West Mill Wedding Venue, Derby
October 17th 2016, was the first time I had photographed a wedding at the gorgeous West Mill Wedding Venue, Derby and it didn’t disappoint.
The day started early at 9am, I joined the Bride and her bridesmaids while they were getting ready. This was at the home of the Bride’s parents, whom I gave the unenviable task of finding matching coat hangers on which to hang the Bridesmaids dresses. Attention to detail is my middle name!
The house was full of excitement and anticipation for what lay ahead, and I spent a good hour in their company, photographing the bride as she prepared for her big day.
Meanwhile over at The West Mill my husband Andy, had met up with Will and his Best men to take a few shots of them before the ceremony. Angela & Will had also hired a videographer, Isabelle Productions to video the day and who I can highly recommend!
During the ceremony there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Will’s young son sang a song and Angela’s young daughter read a poem she had written herself.
The day progressed as Weddings do, at lightning speed, and before we knew it, the New Mr. & Mrs. Sharpe were walking back down the aisle. Having two photographers ensured we didn’t miss a thing.
We then gathered outside the West Mill for a confetti tunnel, it was amazing to see the confetti spiralling around the court yard like some sort of love whirlwind. We then set up the group shots (this is where my skills as a cattle herder really come to the fore at weddings).
After that we took the Bride and Groom off for some romantic shots around the West Mill venue.
End of a perfect day
The day ended for us after the first dance, as Angela & Will danced to songs played by the fantastic live band ‘Uncovered’. It was simply a great day!
